  • Classics and Hot Rods Car Show Long Beach May 2017

Please come to 1ShopAuto.com's 4th Annual "Classics & Hot Rods" show on May 13, held at Home Depot located at 751 E Spring St in Signal Hill. The car show is from 9am to 3pm.

The car show is benefiting The Tribe of Tahquitz (Crew 228) Boy Scouts of the Long Beach Area Council. The Tribe has a long 91-year history and is admired around the US as there is no other scouting organization like The Tribe and its Indian-lore program. It is a prestigious honor to call yourself a Tribesman of the Tribe of Tahquitz. Many boys between the ages of 14-21 want to be members, and we are so lucky that the car show will be hosted by 3rd Generation Tribe of Tahquitz Scouts, Anthony & Sam Schnee.

The funds raised at the car show will help support needed repairs to the summer camp. Camp Tahquitz is located in the Barton Flats area off Hwy 30. It offers outdoor camping & adventure learning skills for Boy Scouts throughout California and the United States. This summer camp is more than 300 acres of wilderness area owned by the Long Beach Area Council. The camp includes a Commissary, Craft Lodge, Shooting Range, Wrangler (for horsemanship) and a pool.

The camp helps build character and outdoor skills with in many ways. One aspect is the scouts completely run their own camp. They are the leaders, camp hosts, merit badge counselors, and in charge of the commissary food preparation, cooking, serving & cleanup. The boys are completely responsible for each area & all the tribesman and scouts working in that area. This camp is unique in that it does not hire outside help to run the camp like other scout camps in the US do. Camp Tahquitz provides such an important opportunity to build leadership and organizational skills for our tribesman.

A big shout out and Thank You to Boy Scouts of America and all our SoCal Supporters for another successful Classics and Hot Rods Car Show.  They raised over $600 dollars for the Tribe of Tahquiz at the Annual Classics and Hot Rods Car Show in May.

We'd also like to thank all the car show entrants, vendors and fans that came out to support our local troop this year.
